The AIME is the invitation-only exam for the top few percent of AMC takers. Our tutors are San Francisco high schoolers who got there, and they teach the way they wish they'd been taught.

Problem of the week
This is the kind of problem our AMC 8 students work on. Hand it to your kid, or try it yourself.
A frog starts at 0 on a number line. Each jump moves it either 3 to the right or 2 to the left. What is the fewest number of jumps it needs to land exactly on 7?
Pick an answer
Say the frog makes a jumps right and b jumps left. It lands at 3a−2b, so we need 3a−2b=7 with a+b as small as possible.
With three jumps the frog lands at 5a−6, which is never 7, and fewer jumps can't reach it either. Four works: three jumps right to 9, one jump back to 7. The answer is (B) 4.
From our students
This math program has overall prepared me for AMC 8 way more than before. I will be reviewing these materials again.
The camp was amazing, and I believe every person learned something new here. The instructors are really nice and make the concepts easy to understand.
